Your rotations at Regional West Medical Center will include: obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, family practice, neurology, pediatrics, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, urology, cardiology, behavioral medicine, occupational medicine, pulmonology critical care, four months of elective time, and two months of rural practice. Hands-on learning includes an on-call schedule every fourth night.

Our family practice residents have unique opportunities to work closely with many diverse populations. Our active medical staff of over 75 physicians represents approximately 30 medical specialties and interests. They are very proud and supportive of the family practice residency, as it is our medical center’s exclusive residency program.
The medical staff is committed to your success. We will help you to develop your skills in the delivery of family healthcare to young and old across the spectrum of intensive obstetrics/gynecology training and experience in ambulatory care, to treatment of adults with chronic illness.
Our three-year rural training track begins at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. As a first-year family practice resident, you will gain valuable experience from a large teaching hospital. Your second and third years offer additional training in family practice under the supervision of the physicians at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
