Students MUST obtain a referral from the Student Health Clinic before visiting any specialty clinic at NMC. Any services not covered by Student Health must be filed with the student’s/dependent’s insurance plan.
If the student is insured through the University's endorsed student insurance plan, the student must file a claim with the company for services not covered by Student Health.
Approved referrals do not constitute automatic payment by the insurance company. The insurance company will pay for Covered Expenses only. If the student does not have a referral from Student Health, the total cost of the visit will be the student's responsibility.
