Jennifer Larsen, M.D.
Her research is focused on the factors that lead to or might reverse cardiovascular disease in patients with diabetes, including after pancreas or kidney transplantation. She has recently found that improved glucose control after pancreas transplantation can reverse some of the damage to the cardiovascular system that occurs with long-term diabetes. As Director of the Clinical Research Center, she is also focused on facilitating clinical research at University of Nebraska Medical Center so that the latest available treatments for a variety of diseases are available to Nebraskans first. An Iowa native and graduate of the University of Iowa medical school,
she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and her
fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Utah. Currently, Dr.
Larsen is professor and chief of the diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism
section in the Department of Internal Medicine. Related links: Clinical Research Center |
