Research Interest

My research area involves computational genomics using next-generation sequencing to study transcriptome and structural variations at the whole genome level. Our tag-based technique called DGS(Ditag Genome Scanning) greatly facilitates identifying genetic aberrations and abnormalities in cancers and inherited diseases, as well as distinguishing normal variations. My current research focus is on applying next-generation short sequences to study structural variations and genome assembly, and on developing algorithms and software tools for fully automated large-scale genomic data analysis to accelerate cancer genomics research.
