Surgical diseases of the esophagus include hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), neuromuscular disorders, and cancer. 

Appointments for this specialty area can be made by calling the surgery clinic. Dr. Sasson sees patients in the Peggy Cowdery Cancer Care Clinic located on the 3rd floor of the Lied Transplant Center at UNMC. (Directions)

Dr. Oleynikov and Dr. Thompson see patients in the UNMC Physician's Surgery Clinic (Directions) on the 5th floor of the Durham Outpatient Center. Dr. Oleynikov also sees patients at the UNMC Physician's West Clinic located around 144th and Center (Directions).
