A New Life:
The Obesity Support Group at UNMC

A New Life is a support group open to anybody who is interested in obesity surgery or has already had obesity surgery.  Families and friends are welcome.

Our support group is an opportunity for our patients to learn more about surgical options of weight loss, and provide mutual support for patients before and after surgery.  We welcome patients at all stages of information about the surgery and all patients who have had weight loss surgery. We hope you will bring your family and friends so that they can learn more about your decisions regarding weight loss surgery and help support you after surgery.

We meet the 3rd Monday of each month.

Schedule for Meetings

  6:00 – 8:00 pm , Informational Session. 

This session is for all patients considering weight loss surgery and must be attended before your initial appointment with Dr. McBride or Dr. Oleynikov.

 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Support Group   

This support group will focus on patients needs after surgery, but all patients are welcome.
