State Relations


The Office of Government Relations is the primary liaison between UNMC and state government officials. The office serves as a resource for elected officials, keeping them informed about the potential impact that legislative and regulatory proposals may have on the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  In addition, the office coordinates outreach and advocates on matters of importance to UNMC, such as the training of health care professionals, graduate education, research, and healthcare delivery.

Nebraska Legislature Interim Studies of Interest

LR22 - A resolution that directs the Health and Human Services Committee and the Banking, Commerce, and Insurance Committee to convene a special committee of state and local policymakers, insurers, health care delivery organizations, and other stakeholders tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of Nebraska's health care delivery, cost, and coverage systems.

LR155 - The Tax Modernization Committee (A special legislative committee created to study Nebraska's tax system)

LR241 - Interim study to examine the financial impact of, and financing options for, medicaid expansion under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for medical assistance for newly eligible individuals

LR260 - Interim study to examine existing barriers to the delivery of health care services through telehealth technologies in Nebraska
