The University of Nebraska Medical Center is searching for a
new director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. The
mission of the Munroe-Meyer Institute is to improve the quality of life for
persons with disabilities and for their families.
The director of UNMC's Munroe-Meyer Institute will be expected to provide leadership that will
facilitate the growth of extramurally funded research and training; increase the
scope and volume of the patient care enterprise while maintaining the
outstanding quality and reputation of the Institute; and to continue the
development of the educational mission of the Institute.
The qualified candidate will have an M.D. or
equivalent professional degree, and / or a Ph.D. or equivalent academic degree
in an appropriate discipline. He or she is expected to have professional
experience commensurate with the assumption of the leadership role for the
direction of a large interdisciplinary rehabilitation institute, including an
established record of research in a field appropriate to the missions and
functions of
Munroe-Meyer Institute, as well as relevant clinical and educational experience; and
an academic history commensurate with appointment in an appropriate UNMC
academic unit. In addition, familiarity with the UCEDD and LEND programs will be
a useful attribute.
