  • Pairs the patient and care partner (a family member or a friend) with physicians, nurses, nutritionist and pharmacists to provide comprehensive patient care, education and support

Amenities

While staying at The Lied Transplant Center you will be treated to hotel-style service and amenities.  Whether you are a Cooperative Care patient or visiting for a follow-up appointment, The Lied Transplant Center is here to meet your every need and make your stay as comfortable as possible.


Cooperative Care and Nebraska House Rooms
Rooms at the Lied Transplant Center are designed to combine medical functions with comfort and privacy.  They contain comfortable furnishings, abundant storage space and adjustable lighting.  Suites are available with separate sleeping and living areas, a kitchenette, private bathroom and a home-like environment which all help you and your health-care providers to focus on your care and recovery.

Patient Resource Center
The Patient Resource Center is an education area for patients and their families or friends.  The room is supplied with the most current medical information, in addition to books, magazines and videos for leisure reading and entertainment.  The room also contains computer terminals with Internet and e-mail access, fax machine, copier, CDs, games and more.

Exercise Room
The exercise room is available for everyone staying in the Lied Transplant Center.  It provides patients the opportunity to regain strenth while allowing care partners and guests the opportunity to work out while away from home.  The room is equipped with stationary bicycles, a Stairmaster and a treadmill.  Instuctional videos and booklets on equipment usage are available.

The play rooms, filled with toys, games and videos are magical get-away for children

Laundry Facilities
Washers and dryers are located on the fourth through the seventh floors of the center.  There is no charge for the machines and each laundry room has vending machines that dispense detergent and fabric softener. The Lied Transplant Center also has dry-cleaning and laundry services available.  Each Cooperative Care room contains a laundry bag and dry cleaning form.  Visitors may place their items in the bag and take it to the concierge dask.

The Healing Gardens
The healing Gardens are a beautifully landscaped outdoor area that gives you a quiet get-away for reflection and conversation.  Cancer and transplant patients ant others undergoing lengthy treatment for serious illness often need a place away from the clinical environment of their treatment.

Parking
Parking for guests and visitors is located in the visitor parking structure next to the Durham Outpatient Canter.  Patient drop-off and pick up can be done in the circle drive in front of The Lied Transplant Center.
