Midtown Clinic where innovation and patient care are paramount in a resident run clinic setting.

UNMC Physicians Midtown was built in 2010 and is an innovative and state-of-the-art internal medicine teaching clinic. The clinic uses a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model and the staff includes a full-time social worker, a licensed mental health professional and a registered nurse with specialized training in diabetes education. Unique clinic services include onsite health education, pharmacy services and group diabetes education classes. There the focus is on a collaborative team approach to healthcare in which patients and physicians engage in a healthcare relationship that focuses on health, wellness, and prevention as well as treatment. The Board of Directors is a dynamic group that is run by the Ambulatory Chief resident has twelve resident representatives in addition to other staff. There are a wide variety of research opportunities including collaborative studies with pharmacy residents and nursing students. Internal medicine residents spend one half-day each week in clinic year-round for their entire residency to ensure continuity of care for their patients. The clinic is located within walking distance of the main medical campus.
