Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology


Our division is proud to be associated with The Nebraska Medical Center, who recently ranked as a Best Hospital by U.S. News and World Report.
Physicians at the medical center specialize in preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases of the digestive tract including the esophagus, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, small intestine and colon as well as liver disease.

The Division of Gastroenterology (GI) and Hepatology is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases.

Areas of special expertise include hepatitis, cirrhosis, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatic disease, cancer of the upper and lower GI tract and motility disorders.

The division has active clinical and basic research programs at UNMC and at the Department of Veteran's Affairs Nebraska and Western Iowa Health Care System.

Our Division supports a world renowned liver and small bowel transplant program.
