Classroom Capture (Echo360)

What is Classroom Capture?

The Echo360 Classroom Capture system offers the capability to schedule a recording of the amplified audio (instructor microphone) and the VGA image in the classroom. The capture is based upon the Echo360 scheduled start and stop time, this is separate from the room schedule. Once the scheduled classroom capture is complete, if specified during the original scheduling process, the capture will automatically be available in the specified BlackBoard course under "Lecture Recordings" on your course menu. The student has the capability to playback the entire recorded session or to scroll to the desired playback location from an index in the browser window.

What Browsers are supported for Classroom Capture?

The manufacture of Echo360 states the general goal is to support the last two versions for the major browsers for each platform (Windows, Mac, or Linux) at the time of initial deployment, as shown below. We develop using industry standards so other browsers may work, but we do not fully test or support them.  We also understand that on-going updates in browsers and integrated components (Java, Flash) may introduce issues. We will respond to these issues in later releases.

How do I schedule my class to be captured?

Every session will need to be scheduled prior to the class time / event. Please contact one of the following individuals at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled class time to schedule the classroom capture. Supply the room location, duration of requested classroom capture, any information in regards to reoccurring scheduling information, Required: Blackboard Course ID.
