Please note:
- Lync instant messaging is now available from off-campus (UNMC to UNMC)
- Instant messaging does not work between UNMC and the hospital.
- While Lync has many features, only Instant Messaging is available at this time. There are no immediate plans to support the more advanced Lync features.
Second, Download and Install Microsoft Lync Instant Messaging |
- Start with the computer from which you want to do instant messaging.
- Open a browser and type in https://net.unmc.edu/eserv/
- Enter your UNMC NetID and Password
- Select ITS > Software > ITS Downloads
- Select Microsoft Lync download for your Windows or Mac
- Windows - 32 Bit
- Windows - 64 Bit
- Mac
- Follow install prompts
- The Microsoft Lync Icon will appear on your desktop

- Repeat from each computer from which you want to use instant messaging
