As you know, the World Wide Web is made up of many computers around the world which are linked to a large network which enables the computers to communicate with one another. The computers which are connected to this network are called web servers. UNMC has the following web servers, each web server has a specific purpose, depending on which enhancement you decided to incorporate will mediate which web server you will need access.

Server Name: dev.unmc.edu
Purpose: Stores all web pages and sites which are being developed and should not be view by the UNMC community. Therefore, an ID and password is needed to browse this server. Also serves as Cold Fusion web application development server
Server Name: k2.unmc.edu
Purpose: Stores and serves as master intranet.
Server Name: info.unmc.edu
Purpose: Visible private server for the UNMC intranet web site.
Server Name: fuji.unmc.edu
Purpose: Stores and serves as master internet.
Server Name: http://www.unmc.edu/
Purpose: Visible public server for the UNMC internet web site.
Server Name: app1.unmc.edu
Purpose: Cold Fusion web application server
Server Name: my.unmc.edu (my.unmc.edu)
Purpose: Serves as Blackboard Application Server
Server Name: webmedia.unmc.edu
Purpose: Stores different types of media, such as scanned slides or photographs, diagrams and other media. Once the setup of the server is complete it will enabled UNMC individuals to access the media via the web.
Server Name: hog.unmc.edu
Purpose: Stores and broadcasts pre-recorded or live streamed video on the internet (both RealMedia and Microsoft).
