McGoogan Library of Medicine

McGoogan Library of Medicine at a Glance
2006 - 2007

The McGoogan Library of Medicine is a prime component of the information infrastructure that enables UNMC to pursue world class status in research, education, and patient care, as well as outreach to the state of Nebraska. The library’s collections and services range from historical artifacts, rare books, and archives to the latest in digital resources. Its resources assure a continuing flow of information to research investigators through electronic journals and databases with a combined annual value exceeding $1,000,000. Library resources support evidence-based patient care and all UNMC academic units in ways consistent with their curricula. Through its Consumer Health Information Resource Service (CHIRS), the library serves hundreds of Nebraskans every year, helping them become informed participants in their own health care.
