National Guideline Clearinghouse

You are in Part 3, page 2 of 3

The National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC) is one of the more comprehensive practice guideline resources. It's features include:

  • Structured abstracts or summaries about the guideline and its development.
  • A condensed version of the guideline for viewing (Summary).
  • Links to full-text guidelines where available, and/or ordering information for print copies.
  • Guideline comparison tool so that you can compare across several guidelines.

All searching is done by keyword, because the database does not have a controlled vocabulary to search. For this reason you can sometimes pull up a large number of guidelines on a single topic or word phrase. There are however options available that will help you narrow your search.
