3. Locating Clinical Guidelines

4. Locating Journal Articles
Sometimes the Internet cannot provide all of the scientific information
you need. For those times when you need more scholarly resources, try
some of the following databases available from the McGoogan Library of
Medicine. You can access all of the databases listed below at the Online

MEDLINE
is the index for medical journal literature. While you will find 300+ nursing
journals indexed here, the focus is primarily on biomedicine.
CINAHL
short for Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, CINAHL
indexes over 500 nursing journals and other sources of information. CINAHL
also includes allied health, consumer health, and alternative therapy journals
not included in MEDLINE.
PsycINFO
Provides indexing and abstracts for over one million articles in 1,500 journals
from over 50 countries. This database, provided by the American Psychological
Association, also includes abstracts for dissertations, books and book chapters
ranging in date from 1887 to the present.
MICROMEDEX®
Drug and patient information, including drug evaluations, patient education
leaflets, and evidence-based herbal and dietary information.
