Search term hints for routes of administration

There are many ways to talk about nasogastric administration: nasogastric administration, NG administration, administered by NG tube, administered by nasogastric tube, the nasogastric route of administration, via NG tube, via nasogastric tube, 300 mg NG, etc.

All of these phrases include the term "nasogastric" or the term "NG." In fact, almost all IPA records that use the term "nasogastric" will concern nasogastric administration since the entire IPA database is focused on pharmacy practice. So instead of using several phrases that contain the word nasogastric in your search statement, you can simply use the word "nasogastric."

Can the term "NG" stand alone also? An IPA search for "ng" retrieves many articles that use the term "ng" only to indicate nanograms. Consequently, you will have to use phrases containing "NG" in your search strategy. For example, "NG tube"
