You have completed your first, IPA search assignment.
Instructions for your second, IPA search assignment follow:
.
- select a topic for your second IPA search from the list of possible final group project topics that Dr. Worrall handed out last Thursday. If you don't have the list of possible topics with you, ask one of the lab facilitators for a copy of the list.
- create a comprehensive, keyword search statement for the topic you selected.
We want you to work on this strategy as individuals. However, please do ask for help from instructors, refer to the tutorial, or refer to your lecture notes as needed. This lab isn't about working on your own to quickly construct a keyowrd search statement that will retrieve a couple of IPA records. It's about individually constructing a search that will retrieve all relevant records using help from instructors, from the tutorial and from lecture notes as needed. We realize that some topics may not yield relevant records. Please, do ask for help from instructors before deciding that this is the case for your topic.
- perform an IPA search using the search statement you have created.
- Click on the blue, "Search History/Alerts" tab below the search boxes.
- If the entire history is not visible, click on the "Show more" link above your search list.
- Click on the "Print Search History" link that appears in the yellow bar above your search history.
- Use the pop-up window's "file" menu to select "print." Then click the "OK" or "Print" button in the "Print" dialog box that appears.
- Please print-out and save a second copy for use during the Cochrane lab.
- Please, write your topic on the search history printout that you turn in with the rest of your lab assignment.
- Staple together the printout of your 1st search search history, the printout of 5 relevant results from your first search, and the printout of your 2nd search history.
- Please, write your name on the top sheet of paper in the stapled collection of papers.
- sign-out of lab and turn in your assignment.
If you have time, please consider completing the evaluation:
