McGoogan Library Computing FacilitiesReference Area Research ComputersThe Library maintains 16 public computers for research functions. All 16 of these personal computers are connected to the campus network and to networked printers. These machines do not contain any word processing or other office software and are for research purposes only. Campus Network Connections at Library Study CarrelsThe study carrels in the Library are wired for the UNMC Campus network. Library users may bring their personal portable computers to the library and connect to the Internet and campus Intranet at the carrels. For instructions on setting up your laptop for the carrels, click here. Computing Cluster -- Wittson Hall, room 8011The campus office of Learning Environment and Internet Services maintains a Computing Cluster on the 8th floor of McGoogan Library. This cluster contains 22 personal computers with Super VGA monitors and sound. All of these machines have Microsoft Office software products installed, and all are connected to the Internet via the campus network. The cluster also houses a flatbed scanner and a laser printer. The operating hours for this cluster are the same as the McGoogan Library hours. For locations and hours of other computing clusters, refer to the table below:
Sievers Center for Interactive Learning/ Learning Resources Center -- Wittson Hall, room 8012The Sievers Center and LRC are located on the 8th floor of the Library. Wilson Library Training Room -- Wittson Hall, room 8012aThe Library houses a hands-on training room with 12 personal computers and an instructor's station all connected to the campus network. The instructor's station is connected to an LCD projector, allowing the instructor to display his or her monitor to the entire class. UNMC faculty and staff and Nebraska Medical Center personnel may schedule the training room for presentations, classes or meetings. To reserve the room, email Heather Brown at hlbrown@unmc.edu.
