The Library's Education Department offers a variety of classes to students, faculty, and staff to help you with information retrieval and management. The classes listed below cover topics for which we most often receive requests. However, if you need a class or consultation on a different topic, we'll be happy to design a session for you.

Locating Peer-Reviewed Medical Literature

 

Improve your MEDLINE searching skills; use the Cochrane Library to locate evidence for patient care; and discover the Library's resources for Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Also, learn about accessing the Library's resources from your office or from off-campus.

Locating Nursing and Allied Health Literature

 

Search the Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL); locate literature on complementary and alternative therapies, and review web resources. Also, learn about access the Library's resources from your office or from off-campus.

Finding Drug Information

 

Use International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA) to locate journal literature and conference proceedings; search the Cochrane Library for systematic reviews of clinical trials; and identify the web sites where you'll find the most up-to-date drug information.
