The Community
UNMC is a 60 acre campus located in the heart of Omaha, a metropolitan area of approximately 600,000 people. Recreational and cultural activities are numerous, as Omaha is the home of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, the Old Market, the Joslyn Art Museum, the Omaha Community Playhouse and the nationally recognized Opera Omaha. The Henry Doorly Zoo contains the world’s largest indoor tropical rain forest and an IMAX Theater. Spectator sports in Omaha include a full range of high school and collegiate sports, minor league teams in hockey and baseball, and is the home of the College Baseball World Series.
