Laparoscopic Hiatal Hernia Repair
At the Nebraska Medical Center Dr.’s Dmitry Oleynikov, Corrigan McBride and Matthew Goede repair these hernias laparoscopically. Three small incisions are cut at and below the belly button. A mesh patch is used to strengthen the diaphragm and prevent re-occurrence. Most patients are able to go home after a 23-hour observation.
