One of the earliest signs of AD is cognitive decline. Consistently, synaptic abnormalities are observed in humans with AD and mouse models. In this pilot proposal, we will examine the hypothesis that AD synaptic abnormalities originate in transcriptional dysregulation.
We expect to identify biomarkers that predict the progression of cognitive decline and new drug targets for addressing the cognitive decline in AD.
