The Department of Education and Child Development is evaluating the Building Bright Futures Early Childhood Teen Parent Program. The Co-Primary Investigators are Barb Jackson, PhD. and Lisa St.Clair Ed.D. Jill Kumke is the Project Director. The overall goal of Building Bright Futures (BBF) early childhood Teen Parent initiative is to help parents to graduate from high school. This program links teens to a variety of organizations in Douglas and Sarpy County based on the needs of the teen. The teen can receive a variety of services, such as: parenting classes, mental health counseling, and support groups. The evaluation will focus on the outcomes for teens and their children. Child progress/outcomes will be measured using individual child assessments. The evaluation will also look at the intervention being used and measure its effectiveness.
