Handwriting Difficulties

Occupational Therapy HandwritingDoes your child avoid or get frustrated with writing or drawing?  Struggle to finish written work? Get poor grades because the teacher cannot read the child's handwriting? Tire easily when writing?

Using the Handwriting Without Tears workbooks and instructional strategies, occupational therapists at UNMC’s Munroe-Meyer Institute are here to help.

Handwriting therapy sessions for children who are in first through fourth grade, know the alphabet and fit the descriptions above are available on a limited basis during the summer. Sessions typically last about 45 minutes. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule requests.

There are also small group therapy sessions, staffed at a 2:1 ratio. Our application/ questionnaire / intake form will help us determine if your child would do best in individual therapy or a group environment as group members must have similar skills.
