Distance Learning

The MPH Program recognizes that offering distance education is important to improving accessibility to students outside the Omaha metropolitan area. While the MPH degree is not offer fully as an on-line or distance learning program, the core courses and the Community Health Education, Epidemiology and Biostatistics concentration courses are available via either live-video-streaming, IP Video or as an on-line course.

The standard modalities of distance education for the MPH program are IP Video (to designated locations in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kearney Nebraska and Scottsbluff Nebraska) and Live Video-Streaming. Live Video-Streaming is audio and video streamed in real time to currently enrolled student(s) anywhere who have a broadband Internet connection and a computer system. The student is given access to the video stream and will hear and see the class just like being there in person. The video and audio are both one-way. Students can interaction with class, connected via telephone to the classroom.
