The Nebraska Health information Project, initiated in 1995, is a partnership project of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska Health and Human Services System. Initiated by the Nebraska Unicameral in 1994, the project's continued success results from the cooperation and collaboration of a number of organizations and individuals. Specifically, those who are involved in the delivery of health care services, financing health care, and analyzing health related data.

The Nebraska Health Information Project was conceived in order to promote the following activities:

  • enhance state health data and health research initiatives

  • develop a routine and timely health data reporting process

  • work to formulate plans that assist in the development of state health data systems

Publications produced by this project are the Nebraska Health Information Databook and Nebraska Health Data Reporters.
