Nebraska Health Data Reporter - Vol 3 Number 2
Authors: Wanqing Zhang, Melanie Smith, and Angella Bowman Nebraska data show that children are hospitalized for asthma more often than adults. This is consistent with trends observed in U.S. data. Most importantly, the descriptive data presented here show that publicly insured children with asthma in Western Nebraska may be at higher risk of hospitalization than children who are commercially insured or children who live in other areas of the state. Further research is needed to determine the causes of these differences.
