Qualifications for appointment include completion of at least one year of graduate training beyond medical school in an approved internal medicine program that provides at least six months of internal medicine in addition to two months in pediatrics and/or emergency medicine. (Currently, our program does not offer assistance in obtaining this position. It is imperative for applicants to apply for internal medicine programs while applying for the neurology residency program.) The resident must spend no more than two months in neurology during this year. In addition to meeting the above requirements, the resident must have the interpersonal skills and a high level of achievement on the USMLE scores and have very good letters of recommendations at a minimum.
The program does accept J1 and H1B visas.
