Fitness Friday: Yoga
The final Fitness Friday of the summer will be held Aug. 22, and organizers are changing things up by offering a yoga program.
- When: 3 p.m. Aug. 22
- Where: The Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza
Todd Gulizia will be leading the class, and beginners are encouraged to attend.
"Don't be intimidated," said Anna Kirshenbaum, public relations events coordinator. "This event is a fun and easy way to learn more about yoga -- and for you experts, a chance to connect with co-workers and enjoy an outdoor workout."
All Fitness Friday events are free for employees and students; all members of the clinical enterprise community are encouraged to attend.
Please RSVP if you are able to attend, as space is limited.
Please bring a yoga mat (or towel) and water to class.
UNMC women's bowling league seeking teams
A group of UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center employees are sending out a call for women to join a Wednesday night women's bowling league, "Tweeters," at Mockingbird Lanes, on 96th and L streets.
The league, which has existed for more than 25 years, is a handicap, non-competitive league. Currently there are five teams in the league, with space for five more.
Uniforms are not required. Some teams wear look-alike T-shirts, often with a medical center theme.
The teams are made up of four bowlers. The league begins Aug. 20 and runs through mid-April.
For more information, contact the league secretary, Bev Gray, at 402-630-4301.
