The Post Master's Certificate (PMC) course of study will be planned with you and an advisor from the new specialty area that you have chosen. A PMC often involves as little as taking 4 or 5 courses in your new chosen field depending on the previous courses in your MSN program. Certificate requirements must be completed within 5 years. Additional criteria may apply based on the selected certificate option.
The purpose of the Post Master's Certificate in nursing is to prepare you for advanced practice or administration in a second specialty area. The UNMC College of Nursing offers a Post Master's Certification in all the specialties.
