Curriculum - Post Masters Certificate

The Post Master's Certificate (PMC) course of study will be planned with you and an advisor from the new specialty area that you have chosen.  A PMC often involves as little as taking 4 or 5 courses in your new chosen field depending on the previous courses in your MSN program. Certificate requirements must be completed within 5 years. Additional criteria may apply based on the selected certificate option.

The purpose of the Post Master's Certificate in nursing is to prepare you for advanced practice or administration in a second specialty area. The UNMC College of Nursing offers a Post Master's Certification in all the specialties.

After completion of the required courses for the specialty area, you are eligible to take certification exams such as nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist.
