Course Descriptions

BSN Program

The expected inidividual student learning outcomes are supportive of preparing students as entry-level nurse generalists.  Attainment of course objectives leads to acquisition of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills incorporated in the program outcomes and competencies.

The baccalaureate curriculum builds on a foundation of the arts, sciences, and humanities.  The BSN curriculum is logically structured, increasing in difficulty and complexisty at each level, as guided by the College's Conceptual Framework.

Graduate Courses

The MSN curriculum is based on a foundation of baccalaureate nursing knowledge.  The BSN degree is a prerequisite to entry into the MSN program.  Courses have prerequisites and co-requisites to assist students with attainment of expected course outcomes.  Core and specialty courses are developed and delivered in a sequence that builds knowledge, attitudes, and skills from simple to complex, with content and learning activities organized accordingly.

The Master's curriculum includes three levels of courses: a graduate core, an advanced practice nursing (APN) core, and specialty course content derived from nursing specialty guidelines and standards.

Post Master's certificate, PhD, and Post Doctoral programs are also offered with a wide range of subspecializations.  Please see individual programs for details.
