Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Program of study — 2 years full time — part-time options

Required Courses

^* Required course — MSN core curriculum 

Five-Semester Full-Time Plan of Study 

^*  NRSG 602 and 603 are taught in the summer of even years; NRSG 604 and 609 are taught in the summer of odd years. These four core courses are also taught each fall and spring semesters.  

^** Need 7 credits total of NRSG 668 over one or more semesters. Can take in later semesters if needed.  

  Part-time study options

• We offer flexible, part-time study options to fit the busy lives of RNs.
• For this specialty: a common part-time path is 6 semesters or 3 years.
• You may take up to 5 years to complete your MSN.
• Ask a graduate student services representative or faculty advisor for guidance in planning a part-time schedule that fits your goals, work schedule and family responsibilities.

Three-Year Part-Time Plan of Study 

^*  1 - 7 credits (need 7 credits total of NRSG 668 over 1 or more semesters. Can take in later semesters if needed.  

NP credentialing

Graduates are eligible to take the Nurse Practitioner certification exam in this specialty.
