The Olson Center for Women's Health...

...a New Outpatient Center!
UNMC, together with its
physician practice group, UNMC Physicians, the Olson Center for Women’s
Health, and affiliate hospital The Nebraska Medical Center, are pleased
to announce the creation of the new Olson
Center for Women's Health. This new center
is a
multi-disciplinary approach to women’s health at UNMC.
The
vision
of the Olson Center is to deliver premier comprehensive women’s
outpatient health services in an environment created to meet the unique
needs of women.
Occupying over 25,000 square
feet on the fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center (main UNMC
campus), the Olson Center houses women’s health professionals from
several disciplines in one location. Physician practices are
located adjacent to key support services to create a cooperative
team approach to the delivery of care, complete with procedure rooms,
imaging suites, and medical offices in the same facility. In addition
to creating unprecedented patient convenience, the union of
several different specialties in one location improves
physician-to-physician communication and collaboration and allows for a
more unified approach to a woman’s care.

The Olson Center operates under the following
guiding principles:
o
To be a
Leader in
Women’s Health
o
To Develop
Innovative Approaches
to Quality Women’s Care
o
To Provide a
Single Point of Access
through Consolidation of Services
o
To Deliver a
Continuum of Services
that Promotes Wellness, Education, Research and Comprehensive Clinical
Care
o
To Create a Compassionate Caring
Environment
o
To Create a Flexible Environment
Designed to Achieve Advancements
in Medicine
o
To provide a higher level of
Customer Service
to patients, patient families, and referring physicians.
The Olson Center is
revolutionary in creating a single access point for women’s
outpatient health services. Many services a woman may need are
provided in one location. For those not available, Olson Center staff
will strive to facilitate convenient appointments for the patient
at another campus location. In addition, along with the opening of the
Olson Center, we have built a women’s health distribution network,
in order to continuously improve women’s health care throughout the
state and region by providing the latest care guidelines and updates to
local and regional women’s health professionals.
