Women's Health
Resource Center
University of Nebraska Medical Center

The newly remodeled Women's Health Resource Center (WHRC)opened with the new
Olson Center for Women's Health in October 17, 2007. Opened in 1994, the
WHRC was originally a small office housing staff only. Now, the WHRC is a
walk-in open-facility located right off the Olson Center's waiting room.
Housing 200 brochures, an extensive resource library, a computer terminal for
patients to research educational websites, and a staff that includes a
bi-lingual associate, the WHRC has become a valued addition to the Olson
Center's healthcare services. The Resource Center continues to provide
women's health education to the community, patients, health care providers, and
students in the Omaha area, regionally, and internationally. Lana Molczyk,
Leni Rauschenberg, Christin Curry McDermott, and Yolanda Burgos provide
educational services and products to all guests. We also provide our
services and most products in Spanish.
Newsletter
Since January 1996, the Women's Health Resource Center has provided a quarterly
newsletter, Women's Health Overview, to
anyone attending an Olson Center event or by request. Subscriptions for the free newsletter may be received by completing the newsletter order form or calling (800)775-2855.
Past issues of the newsletter are also available.
Brown Bag Lectures
The Women's Health Resource Center provides on-going information for the University of Nebraska Medical Center through a monthly brown bag lecture series.
The lectures are available in person to UNMC and NHS employees. All
others are invited to view the lectures at the Olson Center Video
Library. The lectures are available "live" on the second
Tuesday of the months September - May, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The
lectures are then archived to the Olson
Center Video Library.

Many community educational forums and conferences are held within the Omaha
area, available for everyone in the community with nursing credit frequently
offered. Some conferences are annual, others are held every other year,
and still others are offer on a one-time basis. For an up-to-date list of
