Own the Bone program mission

Through the Own the Bone program, the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) seeks to connect patients to answers about osteoporosis treatment and management and to increase patient understanding of the relationship between osteoporosis and fragility fractures.

The program has been created to:

  • Prevent future fragility fractures
  • Promote osteoporosis treatment and bone health maintenance
  • Reduce the impact of osteoporosis
  • Reduce the risk of mortality after hip fractures
