biacore equipment
We are continually trying to arrive at a fair billing method for the use of the Biacore. The University of Nebraska Foundation enabled us to purchase the Biacore 1000 upgrade in 1996 and the Nebraska Tobacco Settlement Biomedical Research Development Fund enabled us to purchase the Biacore 3000 in 2005.
University of Nebraska users will be charged the lowest rate of the following schedule:
- $100.00 per day (includes the evening and early morning hours of the next calendar day)
- $40.00 per hour for technical assistance.
Supplies and Reagents
These above prices do not include costs for technical assistance or any supplies and reagents used in the research. It falls to the users to pay for the service contracts and the supplies that are used.
At a minimum, supply costs for using the Biacore will generally include at least the cost of one chip (a CM5 sensor chip is $186, a 3 pack of SA sensor chips is $931), appropriate coupling reagents, vials and buffers used in the experiment. Each chip contains four surfaces (flow cells) that can be used for coupling. Below is standard pricing for supplies and reagents.
