AAMC Careers in Medicine Careers in Medicine is a career-planning program sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges. It is designed to equip medical students with the tools and information needed to make informed career decisions, to help them understand their specialty options, and the process for applying to a residency program that fits their career goals. The four-stage process includes personal career assessment, career exploration (Specialty information and other medical careers), decision-making, and implementation.

AMA-FRIEDA FREIDA Online is a database containing information on approximately 7,500 graduate medical education programs that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), as well as on 200 combined specialty programs. By defining and prioritizing various selection criteria, you can select several programs or focus on a specific program for viewing.

ERAS ERAS is the Electronic Residency Application Service from the Association of American Medical Colleges. ERAS is a service which transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors using the Internet.

Alliance for Clinical Education The Alliance for Clinical Education is comprised of representatives of the seven main clerkship organizations: Association of Directors for Medical Student Education in Psychiatry, Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Association of Surgical Education, Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine, Consortium of Neurology Clerkship Directors, Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. The mission of ACE is to foster collaboration across specialties to promote excellence in clinical education of medical students.

American Academy of Pediatrics The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and its member pediatricians dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The AAP has approximately 55,000 members in the United States, Canada and Latin America. Members include pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists. More than 34,000 members are board-certified and called Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

American Board of Pediatrics The American Board of Pediatrics was created to advance the science, study, and practice of pediatrics by evaluating the credentials of physicians applying for certification as pediatricians, by examining applicants, and by certifying those who qualify. The purpose of certification is to provide assurance to the public and the medical profession that a certified pediatrician has successfully completed an accredited educational program and an evaluation, including an examination, and possesses the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the provision of high-quality care in pediatrics.

Council On Medical Student Education in Pediatrics The Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) fosters excellence in undergraduate medical education in pediatrics. Functioning under the auspices of the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairmen (AMSPDC), COMSEP is the official organization of north American educators with administrative responsibility for undergraduate medical education in pediatrics.
