The following links have been provided to assist faculty, house officers and students with their personal digital assistants. The links are categorized by General Palm Software, Medical Palm Software, and Palm Software Developer sites.
These four sites have a wide variety of programs for the Palm. Each of them has a number of medical and non-medical applications.
The first three sites listed here have a variety of different medical applications. HandHeldMed has the largest number of programs.
http://www.memoware.com/ (Memoware has a number of documents for reader and database programs, including Isilo and HanDBase.)
http://www.pediatricsonhand.com/ (This is the best site for pediatric PDA usage I’ve found. It has recommendations, reviews, links to software, and links to other sites.)
http://www.avantgo.com/ (AvantGo is a program which allows you to download content from certain channels to your Palm for you to read at your leisure. Channels may have humor, news, recipes, or other content.)
http://www.epocrates.com/ (ePocrates is one of the most widely used drug references available. It can be set to default to pediatric dosing. Also available at this site is qID, which is an infectious disease reference; however, qID has very little pediatric information.)
http://www.fortsoft.com/ (FortSoft has several programs for important information, including 4T Nox, which lets you store passwords, logons, account numbers, and just about any other secure information needed. The program has its own password protection.)
http://www.meistermed.com/ (MeisterMed is a group which makes several Isilo documents. Their main products are LyteMeister (electrolytes), AsthmaMeister, and CodeMeister (ICD-9 codes).)
http://www.statcoder.com/ (Has the Growth program, which lets you plot height, weight, head circumference, and BMI for kids by age.)
