Community Support

Research support comes in many forms including grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies, not-for-profit foundations, and industry sponsors.

But, what happens to research ideas when such funding is not available?

Thanks to the generosity of a quiet group of individuals, the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center has moved innovative projects forward, as well as ventured into new areas of research.

In 2006, department chairman Howard E. Gendelman, M.D., hosted the first Community Pride in Neuroscience Lecture and Dinner to recognize the outstanding support and generosity of these individuals and  to recognize outstanding scientists in the field of neuroscience. read more
