Community Pharmacy Based Rapid Diagnostic Testing

Welcome to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy.

On December 18 and 19, the UNMC College of Pharmacy and Ferris State University College of Pharmacy will host Rapid Diagnostic Test Certificate Programs at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy in Grand Rapids, MI.  There is a recognized need and opportunity for community pharmacists to improve patient access to medical care through the use of rapid diagnostic tests.  This program provides community pharmacists, student pharmacists, and members of academia, industry, and government with the skills necessary to develop a testing program for influenza, Group A streptococcus, HIV, and hepatitis C.  The program’s 20+ hours of continuing education (consisting of a self-study module and live training) will cover information on the targeted disease states, the physical assessment of a patient presenting to community pharmacy, the rapid diagnostic tests, and the business model related to establishing a rapid diagnostic testing service.

The live program will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 18, 2012 and again on December 19, 2012 on the Ferris State University campus at 25 Michigan Ave in Grand Rapids, MI.
