Teaching Activities:
Dr. Peters precepts fourth year pharmacy students from UNMC COP at Siouxland Community Health Center offering Level 1 and Level 2 Ambulatory Care rotations. Dr. Peters is the Endocrinology Section Coordinator for Pharmacotherapy II, and teaches 5 lectures on diabetes mellitus and 1 on sexual dysfunction.  Dr. Peters also teaches diabetes mellitus labs in Pharmacotherapy II and Pharmaceutical Care.  He teaches the Diuretics and Pancreatitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome lecture in Pharmacotherapy I (PHPR 684); two asthma lecturesin Pharmacotherapy II (PHPR 686), and is the co-coordinator and teaches for the Diabetes Mellitus Management for the Pharmacist course (PHPR 657), which is an elective for third year students.

Research Activities/Interests: 
Dr. Peters specializes in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  Dr. Peters has had Type 1 diabetes since the age of 10 years, which assists him in relating to patients, and serving as a role model for controlling diabetes and preventing the complications associated with the disease.  Dr. Peters is the President of the Midwest Clinicians’ Network and is the director for the Health Disparities Collaborative at SCHC.  Dr. Peters assists the primary care providers in the clinical management of many different disease states.
