Because of the specific sequence in which required courses are taught, the Department of Cellular & Integrative Physiology only accepts students for enrollment in the Fall semester.

Prospective students must apply for admission through the University of Nebraska Medical Center Graduate Studies Office. Online application is encouraged. Students should designate Cellular & Integrative Physiology as their desired major degree program by designating Physiology as the desired major on the application (code number M777 for M.S. program and P777 for Ph.D program). In addition, students who enroll in the Graduate College via the Biomedical Research Training Program can choose to earn their degree in Cellular & Integrative Physiology at any point during their first year of graduate studies.

All applicants for admission to the M.S. or Ph.D. program in Cellular & Integrative Physiology must submit official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and results from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Foreign applicants must have completed the GRE within three calendar years of the application date, and must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. GRE and TOEFL scores should be sent University of Nebraska Medical Center (Institution Code 6896).

Priority Application deadline for Ph.D. program. Completed applications (with supporting documents) received by this date will receive full consideration for the limited number of positions available for fall admission.

March 15

Final application deadline for Ph.D. program. Completed applications (with supporting documents) received by this date will be considered for any positions that remain available.

February-March

Offers of admission and financial support are extended to Ph.D. program applicants.

April 1

Application deadline for M.S. program (foreign applicants).

by April 15

Ph.D. program applicants make final decision about accepting offer.

June 1

Application deadline for M.S. program (U.S. applicants).

Mid-August

Classes begin.
