Facilities
The UNMC Department of Cellular & Integrative Physiology occupies approximately 23,000 square feet of space on the fifth and sixth floors of the recently constructed Durham Research Center (DRC). This space includes 25 research laboratories, office space and support facilities (cold rooms, instrument rooms, imaging rooms, dedicated freezer rooms, state-of-the-art conference rooms and a machine shop).
Graduate Student Offices. During the 1st year of graduate study, each student is assigned a desk in one of the shared Graduate Student Offices located on the 5th floor of the DRC. During the ensuing research-intensive years of graduate training, each student occupies desk space in their mentor’s laboratory.
Computer Facilities. The Department is fully computerized, with both Windows- and MacOS-based computers connected to the University's network that provides rapid internet and email access. Cellular & Integrative Physiology students share a windows-based computer system located in the DRC 5th floor Graduate Student Office, as well as multiple Windows-based workstations housed in “computing clusters” at various sites on campus (including the 1st floor of the DRC).
In addition, numerous specialized research resources and core facilities are available on campus.
