The only public academic health science center in Nebraska, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is one of four branches of the University of Nebraska. Sister campuses are to be found in Kearney (University of Nebraska at Kearney, UNK), Lincoln (University of Nebraska at Lincoln, UNL) and in Omaha (University of Nebraska at Omaha, UNO). Although each campus has its own Chancellor, the entire system falls under leadership of a central administration and governance of the Board of Regents.
