Dennis P. McNeilly, Psy. D.

Dr. Dennis McNeilly is Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical Geropsychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He presently also serves as the Assistant Dean for Continuing Education, Director of Geriatric Psychiatry and the Director of Director of Medical Student Education in psychiatry.

Dr. McNeilly graduated with a doctorate in psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in geropsychology at the University of California in Los Angeles, Center on Aging. In 2010, he was awarded the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Outstanding Teacher Award.

Dr. McNeilly's research interests include problem gambling in older adults, victimization of older adults, and the assessment and treatment of depression in older adults. A nationally recognized speaker and researcher on problem gambling among older adults, he currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Nebraska State Committee on Problem Gambling and is a past president of the National Council on Problem Gambling.
