Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Fleisher specializes in adult patients with varied and complex conditions involving developmental disabilities who also have coexisting mental health problems, intellectual developmental disorders or other challenging behaviors. Many of his patients have genetic disorders such as Down syndrome, or other complicated conditions such as autism. He also treats adults with neuropsychiatric disorders including inherited conditions and traumatic brain injuries.

He is Vice Chair for Clinical Services. Dr. Fleisher has received several professional achievement awards including the Frank J Menolascino Award for Clinical Services to Persons with Intellectual Developmental Disorders from the American Psychiatric Association.  He also received the UNMC Chancellor's Golden U Award in 2004. He has served on the National Board of Directors of the NADD for several years.

Dr. Fleisher has been an active book reviewer for JAMA and other journals and served as a reviewer or editorial board member for other medical publications. He has authored, co-authored or contribute to dozens of books, chapters and articles mostly on the topics of his greatest interests, adults with complex developmental disabilities.
