General Psychiatry Clinical Services

Mood and anxiety disorders are very common problems that affect people’s quality of life, personal relationships, productivity and general health. The General Psychiatry faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center provides diagnostic evaluations, treatment recommendations and second opinions for a wide array of mental health problems for adults between the ages of 18 and 65. Our compassionate clinicians use evidence-based approaches to provide patients with behavioral health problems and neuro-developmental disorders potentially beneficial diagnostic evaluations and multidisciplinary treatment options.

We provide a full spectrum of therapeutic services that include short and long-term outpatient individual psychotherapies, pharmacotherapy, and education to caregivers and participation in research for the benefit of our patients. Our clinicians see patients at the UNMC Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, the UNMC Physicians Village Pointe Clinic, the Omaha Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Assertive Community Treatment Team, and Telepsychiatry Consultation Services to the Norfolk Regional Center. Our faculty also consults with local community non-profit mental health and substance abuse agencies to provide psychiatric services to persons with low income and serious mental health needs.
